Xenical
Xenical is an FDA approved prescription
drug which prevents fat from being absorbed into the
body. By attaching itself to the digestive system, Xenical
prevents fat from breaking down. Xenical blocks up to one
third of fat from getting digested and it also makes better
risk factors such as high cholesterol and high blood sugar
which if not treated could lead to diseases like hypertension
and diabetes. Each Xenical capsule contains 120mg of the
active substance Orilstat which acts as a lipase inhibitor.
Xenical dosage
- Take Xenical three times daily with each meal
- The medicine should be swallowed with water
Side effects of Xenical
- Loose stools
- Increased gas
Drug Precautions
- Xenical can cause changes in the bowel habits
- Fatty or oily stools are a result of this medication
- Since Xenical absorbs some fat soluble nutrients like
beta-carotene and vitamin E, take the doctor's advice
in taking a well balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables
