| Vibration a new form of Exercise
September 26, 2006
There is great news for public as Body vibration technology has become available to them which was used by the athletic teams only.
Power Plate spokesman David Cordero said "More than
40 professional and college foot-
ball teams including the Miami Dolphins, the Chicago Bulls
and the Ohio State Buck-
eyes use the Power Plate, a machine that looks like a treadmill
but has a vibrating platform that moves in three different
directions to condition athletes.
Codero said "The vibrating sensation increases blood flow and the contraction of muscles throughout the body."
He also added "the Power Plate causes muscles to contract 30 to 50 times per second. After 15 minutes on the Power Plate, you are sweating."
Cordero said "The buzzing sensation disrupts balance just enough to fool your brain that you're about to fall over. Your body tenses its muscles to keep balance, relaxing and tensing your muscles up to 50 times more than during a normal workout."
Cordero added "When you lose your balance and you feel like you're about to fall, your muscles start tensing and relaxing to compensate for loss of balance."
