Obesity coming to France soon
October 17, 2005
A survey discloses that more than one in 10 of the country’s
adults are overweight. The National Institute for Health
and Medical Research in France confirms, the number of obese
adults went from 8 to 11 percent in the last five years.
Women in France stay slim due to their high fresh vegetable
consumption and long walks. As the scene changes, it is
obvious that obesity is concentrated mainly among poor families.
In an interesting comparison there were only 7 percent of
executives’ children who were overweight when compared
to 25 percent of young men whose parents were unemployed.
Obesity is widespread in US, UK and Australia and the health
departments in other obesity-affected countries are implementing
methods to suppress obesity before it takes effect.
