Experts study the Diet soda- Weight loss controversy
October 4, 2005
A new research conducted on the negative effect of diet
soda on weight loss is proving to be partially true. The
study focused on 1500 soda drinkers for eight years. When
the regular soda group had 47 percent overweight people
the diet soda group showed a higher percentage of 57 percent.
Researchers say that diet soda drinkers are overeaters.
They cut down calories on the drinks but overindulge when
it comes to consuming food. So the more diet soda that people
consume the greater are their chances of putting on additional
weight. According to the researchers, the underlying problem
is in the lifestyle and the diet individuals follow. Having
one diet soda a day and eating healthy foods will not result
in any weight gain.
