Schools stand against obesity

School in south east New South Wales in Australia
titles the warning towards Australia as one of the most overweight
nations in the world. According to the recent economics report,
near about 30 percent of Australians would be overweight at
the end of year 2025.
According to this Economic report school
Principals are taking action against obesity. The principle
Ray Downey of Cooma’s Monaro High school said that he
is shocked at the increase rate of obesity related illness.
The statistics of grim do not surprise the teachers who have
seen students become slower and heavier each year.
He also added that more and more young people
being diagnosed with diabetes is a bit of a signal. Neil Simpson
of Batemans Bay said that the school is doing its part to
control the epidemic of obesity. He also added we have introduced
a new elective in year nine called physical activity in sports
science.
Most of the schools in the region have introduced healthy
eating canteens with backup information on weight control.
