Forward move of Wyeth "Fen-phen" proceedings

On May 24th Wyeth said that final judicial approval for a revised legal settlement related to “fen-phen” diet drugs is being received. This approval will bring the pharmaceutical company more closer to finally deciding the claims of tens of thousands of Americans “fen-phen” drugs user.
Wyeth stated that in the latest agreement pharmaceutical company will deposit $1.275 billion
In the 1990s 5.8 million dieters were using Pondimin (fenfluramine hydrochloride) and Redux (dexfenfluramine) with phentermine. The drug was withdrawn from the market when it was alleged by tens of thousands of American dieters that the drug caused heart-valve problem, primary pulmonary hypertension, and in some cases neurotoxic brain injury, when it was being used with the combination of phentermine.
