Obesity is partly related to kidney cancer

March 21, 2006

Obesity is partly related to kidney cancer. A research suggests that among women, obesity seems to increase the risk of renal cell cancer (RCC) regardless of the fat distribution pattern, while among men; a small hip circumference is associated with increased risk of kidney cancer.

Some of the previous studies have suggested ties between obesity and RCC however, only a few have reported on measures of central versus peripheral adiposity. It has been suggested by researchers that waist circumference, as a marker of central adiposity, may be more closely related to disease incidence than body weight as a marker of obesity.

In case of women, all measures of obesity, including body weight, BMI, waist and hip circumference confer an elevated risk of RCC. For body weight and BMI, women in the highest versus lowest quintile had an approximately twofold increased risk of RCC after multivariate adjustment.

Therefore obesity is a big issue which can be tackled by attaining weight loss. Diet pills are of immense use in this regard as they help in attaining weight loss effortlessly. Phentermine diet pills are one of most popular weight loss drug for curtailing excessive weight.
