Nestle entered into US weight loss market

With the acquisition of Jenny Craig, the Nestle Company transforming their business into nutrition, health and Wellness in which the target is related to weight management. The acquisition of Jenny Craig is done for $600m.
The deal finalizes between Switzerland-based Nestle and Australia based Uncle Toby’s cereals and nutritional snacks business. Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Nestle chairman and chief executive said, the rise of obesity is a major public health concern for the world.
Nestle said, the business will continuously run by Jenny Craig’s current management team reporting to Nestle Nutrition.
