Showed positive results in trial by Arena weight loss drugs

A medicine named Lorcaserin showed a positive result for weight loss in the mid of its trial period. The weight loss drug was developed by Arena Pharmaceuticals and give average weight loss after applied to obese patients.

For testing purpose the drug was given to patients in different doses of 10, 15 and 20 milligrams. The highest dose taking patients lose average weight of 7.9 pounds rather than low dose patients lose 0.7 pounds weight only.

The drug caused significant weight loss after 12 weeks trial to 469 patients, the drug company said. According to resources, 31 percent of patients lose 5 percent or more weight after completing trial period of lorcaserin drug.
