Poly Vinyl’s interesting game for weight loss

An interesting 12 week weight loss competition held in Poly Vinyl Co. which was named as "Poly Vinyl Biggest Loser". This title was collected by 37 years old Mike Offenbecher who dropped more than any other employee participated in the struggle. He dropped 46 pounds in 12 weeks. This program was molded after Network television show.

He gets to choose between exercise equipment or a family membership of YMCA for a year as a winner reward. Before making any change to his diet or exercise he discussed it with his physician. His physician advised him to put a halt on eating junk food and fried food. He also told “It was really hard the first month. I was getting hunger pains," he also said drink a lot of water in a day is the key of success to weight loss.

Kris Raeder the organizer of weight loss competition and controller at Poly Vinyl said “the company always encourages employees to live healthy. We do a lot on a regular basis with our wellness team. It's more for the wellness of employees. When you feel better you are happier, you are more productive." They have initiated the competition in April after the suggestion of an employee.

The participants had two options either to loose weight individually or in a team under a Team Leader. One third of employee participated in this competition and lost a total weight of 247 pounds. Winning team receive the gift certificate of $50.

Lynn Seitenzahl who is 55 years old, according to her competition was the approach to reduce weight and keep active. "It was to hold my own," she said.

Helen Olson from Sheboygan Falls said she did it to support to his co workers. She did not lose a major weight loss but she wanted to lose 10 pounds of weight.
