they are expected to become more popular in 2006. As far
as reports are concerned, 65% of the American workforce
is overweight or obese. Obese employees cost businesses
a hefty amount of $13 billion a year because of higher health-care
expenditures and giving less time at work.
Apart from this, obesity contributes to diabetes, heart
disease, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, asthma, arthritis
and a host of other life threatening diseases. Growing numbers
of businesses have been implementing slim-down-at-work programs
over the past three years - and they've seen their health-care
costs flatten.
