Rise in obesity amongst high school students of Florida

Obesity is on a rise amongst the high school students of
Florida according to a study on “Overweight and Related
Risk Factors” conducted by the Florida Department
of Health. The study showed that there was a 28.6 percent
increase in the percentage of high school students who were
overweight and are in urgent need of weight loss techniques.
The dreaded ailment of obesity can prove life threatening
and weight loss is the only means of getting rid off those
excess weights.
Weight loss should be initiated by the obese people as
being overweight has become an alarming epidemic among the
adolescents of Florida and being overweight increases an
individual's risk for serious chronic diseases. To combat
this alarming health issue of obesity, the Department has
taken initiative to educate the youth by promoting healthy
lifestyles and suggesting healthy behaviors.
