Diet Pills have side effects
April 05, 2006
Recent studies suggest that the diet pills which are used
for weight loss have some dangerous side effects. These
diet pills are very much effective for weight loss but patients
have begun to complain of rapid heartbeats and unpredictable
mood swing. In the history of diet pills there have been
hundreds of weight loss drugs introduced to the public and
hundreds of recall due to dangerous side effects.
The side effects of these drugs are high blood pressure,
heart damage and kidney damage. In the past years the FDA
has banned some drugs like Ephedra due to its dangerous
side effects. In 2004 155 people have died due to these
prescription drugs. Citrus aurantium, also known as bitter
orange, is believed to have similar effects as ephedra and
is now one of the most widely used dietary supplements.
For finding out which substance is dangerous for health
in the drugs, the two supplements Advantra Z and Xenadrine
EFX are tested by "Dr. Haller". After their research,
Dr. Haller said that the mixture of bitter orange extract,
caffeine and various herbs contained in Xenadrine EFX caused
high blood pressure. The other drug Advantra Z which contains
only bitter orange extract is not the lone cause for high
blood pressure.
