Using Phentermine

Phentermine may be initiated in obese patients who need
medical assistance for weight reduction. Treatment with
Phentermine usually extends up to 12 weeks and may continue
as long as weight loss is maintained.
Phentermine Dosage
Phentermine
is taken on an empty stomach once daily 30 to 60 minutes
before breakfast. The tablet may be broken in half but should
not be chewed or crushed. According to FDA the individual
should have a BMI of 30 or above to undergo Phentermine
medication. All diet
pill medications lose effectiveness over time. So health
practitioners prescribe it with a good diet and exercise
program.
Dosage for adults under Age 60
- Oral dosage form [Capsules] - 15 to 37.5mg
- Oral dosage from [Tablets] – 15 to 37.5 mg
- Oral resin dosage from [Capsules] – 15 to 30mg
Adults Age 60 and over
A reduced dosage may be necessary.
Infants and children
Phentermine is not recommended for children
under age sixteen.
Precautions
Use Phentermine with caution as it is similar chemically
to amphetamines and has the potential for psychological
dependency.
Diabetes : Phentermine may affect blood
sugar levels
Alcohol : Limit alcohol as it may increase
the side effects like dizziness associated to Phentermine
Breast feeding : Breast feeding is not
recommended while using Phentermine
Driving and Strenuous work : Phentermine
use may cause dizziness and drowsiness. So it is not suggested
that patients engage in strenuous work
Kidney disease : Higher blood levels of
Phentermine increases risks of kidney diseases.
Hyperthyroidism may worsen due to Phentermine use
Surgery or Dental treatment : Using Phentermine
in conjunction with medicines during emergency treatments
may cause serious side effects.
Taking a missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it's already
time for the next dose, skip the first dose and regularize
the medication with the next dose.
Symptoms

- Stomach cramps
- Irregular heartbeat
- Fever
- Confusion
- Hallucinations, restlessness and panic
