Valvular heart disease
Healthy persons who have taken a combination of
Phentermine with Fenfluramine have reported cases of regurgitant
cardiac vascular disease. It affects the aortic or tricuspid
valves. The etiology of these valvulopathies has not been
established and their course in individuals after the drug
stopped is not known. There have been no reported cases
to date of the valvular condition with Phentermine use alone.
Allergies to medications like amphetamine, ephedrine, metaproterenol, terbutalin, methamphetamine, dextroamphetamine, isoproterenol, norepinephrine or other appetite suppressants might affect drug effectiveness.
Phentermine should be used in addition to good diet and
exercise. Before beginning the treatment, the patient should
be well aware of disciplined lifestyle patterns and controlled
diet therapies. Precautions for a foreseen Phentermine addiction
should be gauged and behavioral changes adapted for proper
course of treatment.
